Management TeamKevin Miller credits the success of the Pittsburgh Network Office to the strong leadership provided by his Coaching Team.
 Kevin MillerManaging Partner Kevin joined Northwestern Mutual in 1990 as a Financial Representative after graduating from Saint Francis University. As he grew his own practice he also began introducing others to the career with his role as College Unit Director and eventually Field Director. In 2004, Kevin moved to Milwaukee to join the corporate office as an assistant regional director. While in Milwaukee Kevin worked on leadership development and helping College Unit Directors and Field Directors grow in their roles. Kevin returned to Pittsburgh in 2007 when he was appointed managing partner.  Craig FiedlerManaging Director Craig Fiedler is a graduate of Penn State University. After graduation he served in the U.S. Marine Corps and began his career with Northwestern Mutual in 1994. Craig became part of the leadership team in 2001 as a managing director. Craig is a two-time member of the 100 Lives club and a five-time recipient of the OARS award, which recognized excellence in personal production in addition to successful coaching relationships. He has been a qualifying member of MDRT as well as received the Life Impact award every year since 2000. Craig lives in Fox Chapel with wife, Alyce, their four children, Henry, Caroline, Grace and Lilley and dog, Teddy. In his spare time, Craig enjoys hunting, golfing and the occasional celebratory cigar.  Jamie Thomas, CLTCManaging Director
Jamie Thomas is a West Virginia graduated and joined Northwestern Mutual in 1996. Jamie became a Managing Director in 2005. He joined the 100 lives club in 2003 and is a 4-time qualifying member of the Million Dollar Roundtable. In 2008, Jamie was given the OARS award for outstanding performance in personal production as well as management. He has also received the DA growth award every year since 2007 for the permanent dedication to the development of his team.
Jamie grew up in Murrysville and lives in Cranberry with his wife Laura and their 2 children, Chase & Natalie. Fishing and hunting at his camp are just two ways Jamie stays true to his WVU college days. He also enjoys water sports, golf and being activity involved with Chase & Natalie’s activities.
 Buddy ZorackiManaging Director Buddy has worked for Northwestern Mutual for the past 30 years. During that time, he led the Connellsville District Network Office to become one of the leading agencies for the Class I and Class II District Agent categories. Buddy "developed the Connellsville District Office to consist of professionals of integrity who are dedicated to the financial successes of their clients."  Peggy McCarthy HavenarDevelopment Officer Peggy McCarthy Havenar joined the Northwestern Mutual in November 1998. She started her career in the Scott Carr, DNO in Schaumburg IL as Director of Recruitment. After seven years and a variety of accomplishments with the Hoopis Financial Group and The Carr Group, Peggy went to the Home Office in October 2005. As a Field Resource Consultant, Peggy worked with Leadership Teams throughout the country, helping them with their recruiting, training, internship program, new representative development and leadership development. Peggy then transitioned back to the field, with the Pittsburgh Network Office in 2008. Since being in Pittsburgh Peggy has grown their college program from #57 on the Goal Post to #16. She does a variety of things focused on growth and development of new financial representatives. As of January 2011 Peggy has become the Development Officer for Northwestern Mutual- Pittsburgh, harboring responsibilities for the recruiting, training and development systems for our under five year representatives.  Ken SinagraField Director Ken Sinagra joined Northwestern Mutual after graduating from John Carroll University in 2004. In 2006 Ken joined the leadership team as a College Unit Director and increased his impact on the organization as well as community when he took a Field Director contract in 2008. Ken achieved Pacesetter First 40 in his first six months with Northwestern Mutual. Since then he has continuous strived for high activity and joined the 100 lives club in 2009.
Ken grew up in Brookline (Pittsburgh) and now lives in the Robison area. He is an avid sports fan, especially the Pittsburgh Penguins and Pirates. He also enjoys playing racquetball and watching a good movie.
 Brian FetscoField Director Brian is a Field Director/Financial Representative for the Southern Pittsburgh District Office in Connellsville, PA. Brian graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Marketing and Business Management. While still in school, Brian entered Northwestern Mutual's internship program which was named One of America's Top Ten Internships (Vault Guide to Internships, 2006 edition.) Brian achieved great levels of success with his prospects and clients. When he joined full time, Northwestern Mutual became the only financial company Brian has ever worked with. A native of Connellsville, PA , Brian currently resides in the New Stanton area.  Joseph Hoover, FSSField Director Joe Hoover has been with Northwestern Mutual since 2007. He graduated from West Virginia University with a B.A. in Communications. After one year he joined the management team as a College Unit Director and expanded his leadership duties in 2010 when he became a Field Director. He is a member of the 100 Lives club (2010) and a qualified member of the Million Dollar Roundtable. (2010) He is a devoted WVU sports fan and his wife’s name is Jess.  Ryan McKennaField Director Ryan McKenna received his Bachelor’s of Science from Miami University of Ohio. He joined Northwestern Mutual upon graduation in 2005. In 2008, he took on his first leadership role as a College Unit Director. Ryan continued on the leadership path by become a Field Director in 2010. Ryan was a member of the 75 lives club in 2008-2009, and was in the Platinum Top 50 in 2009, which recognizes new Financial representatives for their success. Ryan and his wife Erin live in Aspinwall. They along with their two dogs, Rascoe and Teddy and just celebrated the birth of their first child, Charlotte. Ryan enjoys skiing, skeet shooting, squash and is working on his golf game.  Kevin YeargersField Director Kevin Yeargers is a graduate of Penn State University and joined Northwestern Mutual in 2004. Kevin began working with our internship program in 2008 as a College Unit Director. In January of this year he decided to increase his management impact by getting his Field Director contract. Additionally, Kevin maintains a strong personal practice. He was a member of the 75 lives club 2009-2010 and qualified for the Million Dollar Roundtable in 2009 & 2010. Kevin completed his first Tri-athalon last year in Washington, DC and you can find him on the golf course most weekends in the Spring and Summer.  Jesse GoodallCollege Unit Director Jesse graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and began his career at Northwestern Mutual soon after completing their internship program. His hard work and dedication earned him the Power of 10 award in the summer and fall of 2007 and recognition as a Top Ten college intern for the Eastern Region in 2006. As a College Unit Director, Jesse recruits, trains and develops a group of college students through one of the top internship programs in the country. In addition to his role at Northwestern Mutual, Jesse is the Head Junior Varsity Lacrosse Coach at Pittsburgh Central Catholic High School and is actively involved in many charitable organizations including Family House of Pittsburgh.  Nathan HopkinsCollege Unit Director Nate Hopkins is a 2007 graduate of Washington & Jefferson College majoring in Business Administration, where he also played four years of collegiate baseball. Shortly after graduation, Nate joined The Northwestern Mutual as a financial representative. Nate grew up in the Greensburg area, and now owns a home in Pittsburgh’s Lawrenceville neighborhood. He maintains his practice out of our Monroeville district office. In early 2011, Nate became a College Unit Director. He is extremely excited about his new role in management and is striving to build a well balanced practice between his personal and leadership roles. Outside of his practice, Nate is an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and loves to golf.  Brett KovachCollege Unit Director Brett Kovach graduated from West Virginia University in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. After a career with Goldman Sachs as a Financial Analyst, he joined the Northwestern Mutual Financial Network in 2007 as a Financial Representative. Brett is a representative out of the Connellsville, PA office where he is also a College Unit Director. As a College Unit Director, Brett is responsible for training and developing a group of college students through one of the top internship programs in the country.  Dawn EkDirector of Recruitment and Selection Dawn Ek is a graduate of the University of Dayton. Upon graduation, she joined the Northwestern Mutual of Pittsburgh as an Executive Assistant to the previous Managing Partner. Dawn then moved to Dallas, Texas where she was the Director of Recruitment for MetLife for 3 years. Dawn came back to the Northwestern Mutual office in May of 2010 as the Director of Recruitment and Selection. Dawn is part of multiple Pittsburgh Sports League teams along with other co-workers from the office. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.  Maggie McBroomRecruiter Maggie joined the Northwestern Mutual -Pittsburgh Network Office in August 2010 as a member of the Recruiting Team. Maggie is a graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a Degree in Science and Technology/Marketing. After graduation, she interned at Enterprise Rent-A-Car as a Management Trainee. She then worked for TEAM Enterprises as a Lead Brand Ambassador until 2010 when she joined the Northwestern Mutual. As a recruiter, Maggie is responsible for facilitating the process of attracting, selecting and retaining financial representatives for the Pittsburgh Network Office. Born and raised in Derry, PA, Maggie now resides in the Mount Washington area of Pittsburgh.  Laura PowellRecruiter Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Laura graduated from Grove City College in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications. Laura started her career with Northwestern Mutual as a Recruiter in the Eastern Division Office in Monroeville right after graduation. As a recruiter, Laura is responsible for facilitating the process of attracting, selecting and retaining financial representatives for the Pittsburgh Office. She is passionate about growing the Network Office alongside the Management Team and loves the city of Pittsburgh where she lives and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.  Ashley CheethamCampus Recruiter Ashley Cheetham graduated from West Virginia University in 2008 with her B.A. in Communication Studies. After graduation she spent two years in New York City where she worked in professional staffing as well as advertising and event planning. She moved back to her hometown of Pittsburgh, PA and began working as the Campus Recruiter in December 2010. As the Campus Recruiter for Northwestern Mutual Financial Network-Pittsburgh, she helps college students learn more about our Top Ten Internship program. Through campus recruitment she gives students the opportunity to learn how our internship can provide them with real life hands on experience within the financial services industry. Gina FalvoRecruiter Gina graduated from Penn State Behrend in 2010 with her B.A in Marketing. After graduation she worked as a Sales and Marketing Coordinator for Network Access Corporation. In September of 2011, Gina joined Northwestern Mutual. As a recruiter, she is responsible for facilitating the process of attracting, selecting and retaining financial representatives for the Pittsburgh Network Office. Gina currently resides in the North Hills where she was born and raised. Andrea AyersDirector of Training
 Brian FroehlichChief Operating Officer Brian joined the Pittsbugh agency in November 0f 2009. After a eight year career in Retail Banking he spent several years with a South Hills investment firm as Director of Operations where obtained his 6, 63, 7 and 65 Securities Licenses. Since joining the Pittsburgh Agency Brian has grown and developed the network office's program providing sales support to 23 Financial Representatives at various levels, in addition to oversseing the network office's Northwestern Mutual Investment Services Operations Department. . Brian has obtained his Series 9 and 10 Licenses and is the agency’s back up compliance officer. Kristen KasseOperations Manager
Kristen joined Northwestern Mutual in November of 2002. She has had numerous roles during her career at Northwestern Mutual. She was our Recruiting Coordinator, Managing Partner Executive Assistant, Office Move Project Manager and is now currently the Director of Operations. Kristen has her BSBA from Robert Morris University and her Master of Science in Organizational Studies from Robert Morris University. Kristen lives in Peters Township with her husband Geoff and their son Kyle and dog Kasey. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and being an active member of the Mt. Lebanon Junior Women’s Club where she serves on the Silent Auction Committee. Jerry SciulliDirector of Network Office Supervision Jerry Sciulli is graduated from the University of Pittsburgh and joined Northwestern Mutual in 1996. He has been the Director of Network Office Supervision since the compliance/supervision program began. Jerry was also one of the original members of the DNOS Advisory Committee. Jerry currently holds his Series 7, 9, 10, 51, 63, and 66. Jerry resides in Shaler with his daughter Isabella. Karen AndersonExecutive Assistant
Karen Anderson has been working with Managing Partner, Kevin Miller, as his Executive Assistant since April of 2009. Prior to working with Kevin, she worked as a Sales Assistant for a Financial Representative. In addition to handling the daily operations of Kevin's office, Karen also enjoys planning events and meetings for the agency and working closely with the Recruiting team. Karen is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors of Science degree in Psychology and lives in the North Hills with her husband, David and their dog, Barrett. Tess JonesTechnology Coach Tess joined the Northwestern Mutual team in 2010 as the Technology Coach. In this role, she is responsible for implementing the use of technology in the network office and integrating technology into the financial representative's practice. After graduating from Saint Vincent College in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Education, Tess became a high school Theology teacher and was the Head Coach of the Pitt-Johnstown Women's Cross-Country team. She then went back to Saint Vincent College to obtain her Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction which she completed in May 2010. Through her years at Saint Vincent, she was a member of the Women's Cross-Country team and was a graduate assistant in Women's Lacrosse and Cross-Country. Born and raised in Ligonier, Tess currently resides in Downtown Pittsburgh. |
Andrea Ayers joined Northwestern Mutual in July 2011 as the Director of Training. She has a Bachelors of Business Administration from Ohio University, as well as a Masters of Science in Business Education from Robert Morris University. Previously an Associate Financial Representative from 2003-2007 in the Pittsburgh office, Andrea went on to teach high school business and computers in the greater Pittsburgh area until re-joining Northwestern Mutual in 2011. Andrea manages our full-time training program, internship program, and other continuing education meetings within the agency. In addition, she works closely with the Recruiting and Development teams to coach & mentor representatives and make the transition into a Financial Representative role successful for all candidates.
